Welcome from the Chairperson

The Holocaust has a diaspora that reaches far beyond the infamous sites where it occurred. In fact, thousands of survivors and their descendants live in many different countries around the world, a handful of whom came to Ireland. While they began life here as immigrants, through time and generational change, they have become Irish. Holocaust Education Ireland educates and informs about the Holocaust, raising awareness about it and its consequences. We aim to redress antisemitism and all forms of racism and discrimination, encouraging acceptance and respect for all people in order to foster a diverse, inclusive, and equal society.

Through education, we refute Holocaust distortion and denial by providing historically accurate information about the Holocaust and its consequences. And through education, awareness and remembrance, we cherish the memory of all of the victims of the Holocaust, learning from the past lessons that are relevant for young people everywhere in our lives today.
